Janet Allison: Piano

Janet Allison is a transplant native of Greenville having been in the area since 1994. She has played the piano and flute for over 20 years. She received her Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education from USC Upstate. When she isn't teaching music lessons, Janet teaches 4k at Lake Forest Elementary. This is her 15th year as a public educator and 9th year teaching in Greenville County. When Janet isn't teaching elementary school or music lessons, she enjoys performing in musical theatre and concert events. 

 

 

Chloe Arnold: Cello

Chloe Arnold is a cellist and composer born and raised in Greenville, South Carolina, who has been playing cello ever since the age of eight. As a cellist, Chloe has earned spots in orchestras at the regional and state level and has performed as a soloist with various youth orchestras, including the GCYO in her junior year of high school. For the last two years of her public school education, she had the pleasure of participating in the strings chamber music program at the Fine Arts Center of Greenville and now considers herself a proud graduate of this institution.

Chole is currently attending Oberlin Conservatory in Oberlin, Ohio where she is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Composition while still maintaining an active career in cello performance. She is currently studying cello with Jonathan Dormand of the award-winning Verona Quartet and remains actively involved with ensembles both within and outside of the Oberlin community. It has always been her belief that a life with music is always a life filled with joy, and so she looks forward to sharing this joy with her students.

Zac Bolton: Guitar + Ukulele + Bass

Zac Bolton is a South Carolina native who has been teaching and playing for over 20 years. Zac attended Winthrop University where he attained his Bachelors of Arts in music. He is proficient in jazz, rock, country, blues, and has also studied classical guitar. While guitar is his primary instrument, Zac also teaches electric bass and ukulele as well.
Zac balances his teaching schedule at Pecknel with a busy performing calendar. He plays with various groups of contrasting styles throughout the Carolinas and is very active on the Greenville music scene.

Dr. Brenda B. Keen received her training under the faculty at Bob Jones University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education, with a piano proficiency, in 1981, a Master of Arts in Elementary Education in 1991, and a Doctor of Education in Curriculum and Instruction within the fields of Choral Music and Theology in 1998. She studied piano with Dr. Mark Parker. She studied choral conducting with Dr. Dwight Gustafson, Roger Buchanan, Fred Coleman, and Dr. Warren Cook. She has also studied vocal technique with Myrna Reynolds, Susan Mardinly, and Chai Lin Yuah of the Hartt School of Music. She has sung for seven years with the Hartford Chorale, including solos roles, under the direction of Henley Denmead, and the Hartt Chamber Singers under Dr. Gerald Mack. In 2007, Dr. Keen founded the New England Girls' Choir. Under her direction, NEGC performed in such notable venues as Notre Dame Cathedral and La Madeline in Paris, France, St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin, Ireland, and Bruton Parish in historic Williamsburg, Virginia. In the summer of 2010, she taught Choral Directing and Voice Production classes while touring with the Majesty Music College in Chicago and Philadelphia. In that time he has earned a seat in an AllState band three times, as well as placing high in several music competitions. Last semester he played as the principal tubist in the Bob Jones Symphony Orchestra, and as a section leader in the Bob Jones University Wind Band. He has also sung in choirs for over ten years and studied voice for two years. He has sung multiple solos with the University Singers. Nathan has a passion for music and intends to spend his life pursuing that passion. Tommy is a passionate instructor of traditional snare and drum set and believes music lessons are for all students.
